Thursday, March 27th, 2008

On March 31st the final quarter of the school year begins. This is exciting news for some, and not so exciting news for others. The Senior class of 2008 will now get to begin their senior priviliges of getting to leave the school campus during their study halls. I know the seniors are anxiously awaiting their last days of high school, only 40 (approx. 8 weeks)  left after today!  :)

FFA Week

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

ffaweek_logo.jpgFebruary 16th to the 23nd of 2008 is this year’s National FFA Week. The theme is “Blue Jackets, Bright Futures”. Starting today, the Maddock A.S. Gibbens FFA is volunteering for the rest of the week at the After School Activities Program (ASAP), which runs from 3:30pm to 6:00pm. After the kids have their snack and finish their homework, Mr. Wald and the volunteer(s) will be going down to the Ag Room and doing some flight simulations and cutting out some patterns with the scroll saws.

On Thursday, the Maddock A.S. Gibbens FFA will be having an Ice Cream Social for the teachers and staff to honor all of the hard work they do for the students and the school. These services/activities are only a small portion of what the Maddock A.S. Gibbens FFA does for the Maddock Public School and the community.

Laughter

Saturday, February 16th, 2008

I know we all have busy schedules and more often than not, there is stress involved. The good news is there is a treatment for that. Doctors say laughter reduces stress. One doctor in particular believes laughter can cure all your illnesses and that person is Patch Adams. Well, I am going to try his method and I want you to see if it works. Below are some funny pictures that I felt like sharing with you. Hope you feel better! :)

NO ROLLERBLADING OR SKATEBOARDING!!!

Friday, February 15th, 2008

This is an outrage. i really hope that this PrivatePurpose building is actually going to keep kids entertained. it’s pretty much the only thing in this town that is actually useful to kids. if you’re bored, you can go there and have fun shooting baskets, petting the cows, or rolling around on a nice big open area out of the twenty below weather. that is if you have a keycode. but, like everything, all good things must come to an end, as has the pleasure of riding your rollerblades or skateboard. on the front door, there has recently been a sign placed that says NO ROLLERBLADING OR SKATEBOARDING. so i hope that everybody in this town loves basketball since that’s all you’re going to be doing in there.

Super Tuesday

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

super-tuesday-2008.jpg

February 5th is the biggest day for primary and caucus elections, because there will be 22 states voting for the presidential candidate they want to be in office on January 20, 2009. Some states will have both republican and democratic primaries/caucuses and other may have just one or the other on that day. When you vote in a caucus or primary, it is your voice that is important, because you are telling the electorate whom they’re going to support. I urge everyone to go out and vote. Remember, if you don’t vote you can’t complain about the outcome on the ballot.
