AWANA Finishes for the Year
Thursday, May 1st, 2008Bethany AWANA – a Bible cenetered program where children and youth can learn about God and His Word, meet new friends, and participate in exciting games and challenging contests — ended this year with the annual Awards Night, Sunday evening, April 27, with parents and friends joining the AWANA members from all over Benson County. Captian Paul Backstrom led the service. The students led in the usual Flags Opening cerimony and sang several songs. Here you see the “Clubers” (3rd through 6th graders) singing. Besides the awards given out there were a couple of “highlights”: a contest of lining up all the Books of the Bible (in order) with two adult teams and two AWANA teams. The adults did beat, but it was close!! There was also an “Alumni Quartette” (all four ![]()
members having gone through all the levels at Bethany AWANA in years past), who sang for us. Pictured here is the quartette: Ben Backstrom, Paul Rice, Levi Slater and Andy Backstrom. The evening concluded with an Ice Cream Social enjoyed by all. Look for AWANA starting again in the Fall.
