Tables and Chairs for the Multi-Purpose building

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

As most of the Maddock community may already know the Multi-Purpose building has been used several times for many different events.  The building has been very useful to the community although there is a bit of a problem. When there are certain events which call for tables and chairs there is a lack of them. For one example there was a Sports Boosters Banquet last night and there were not enough tables or chairs for the banquet, and this is a hassle. The first hassle is finding tables and chairs which they should use, mainly the school and community center are called upon in this situation. The second hassle is for other people from the community, such as volunteers or even students, are expected to haul all of the tables and chairs over and set everything up. I would suggest the community to start fund raising for tables and chairs so they can have them there to make it more convenient for others.

It’s Warmin’ Up Folks!

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

Well over the past couple of days it sure has been getting warm around these parts. For instance, on Monday, March 10th, the temperature was a staggering 45 degrees on the fahrenheit side. The day right after Monday, Tuesday for the laymen, March 11th, the temperature was a staggering follow up of 38 degrees fahrenheit. Let’s all just hope that it stays this way and melts all of that nasty white stuff that’s still hanging around like a bad hangnail. Maybe all the snow will melt and summer will come early.

Track Has Begun

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

Friday February 29 was the first track practice for the Maddock High School. The Maddock track team co-ops with Minnewauken and Leeds to form the Benson County Wildcats. The Wildcats first meet is an indoor meet on March 25 in Bismarck. They will also be having their first co-op practices on March 17th and 18th. The Wildcats first outdoor meet is not until April, that is when track season really starts to take-off. For the practices Maddock has been running indoor and some stuff outdoor now that it has become warm enough.
