The Fourth Quarter Begins

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

On March 31st the final quarter of the school year begins. This is exciting news for some, and not so exciting news for others. The Senior class of 2008 will now get to begin their senior priviliges of getting to leave the school campus during their study halls. I know the seniors are anxiously awaiting their last days of high school, only 40 (approx. 8 weeks)  left after today!  :)

Senioritis??

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

I know I was very excited when I heard it is only 42 days left of school! The Maddock seniors are getting anxious for graduation. I think some of us may have Senioritis…I know I do. The last nine weeks have arrived and that means we get our senior privileges, so we get to leave for lunch and school during study halls without having a parents permission slip.

This year has gone by so fast, and I know the last nine weeks will fly by. We are all anxious to get out of here, but I hope my class is also taking advantage of our final high school days. Because we might get sick of eachother once in awhile, but come next year we’re going to miss eachother.

Say “Buh-Bye” to the Snow!!!

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

If anyone has been outside this past week, you probably have noticed that the white substance on the ground seems to be disappearing. This means summer is almost here. And i’m sure that it will be before you know it. During this past week the temperature has grown increasingly from upper 30’s to as high as around the 50’s. This heat wave has caused a trememdous amount of snow to melt, which has become a great deal of fun for kids who like to jump in the puddles. If this heat wave keeps up, the snow will be gone in no time and it might finally be short-sleeve weather!!! Aren’t you excited?

Sr. Class Trip

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

The seniors had a wonderful time on the class trip to Minneapolis. The class would like to thank Greg Maddock, Miss Sears, and Mr. Wald for being our advisors on the trip and making it a fun time. When we arrived in Minneapolis Wednesday night we relaxed at the hotel (Embassy Suites) and ordered Domino’s Pizza. Thursday we went to the Science Museum then after that we took got a little icy on the ice skating rink downtown. After ice skating we then went to Charlie’s Grill to eat a nice supper. I was not impressed with the place for what we ended up paying for, a little too much money for the quality of the food and quantity we got.

Friday we left our hotel at 12:30 and went to a waterpark at the Radisson Inn. We spent about 3 hours swimming and relaxing on the water. After the waterpark we decided to go to back to the hotel and get ready for the night. We then went to Gameworks, which was about 5 blocks away from the hotel, so we got some exercise and saved fuel. We ate at Gameworks and had alot of fun playing games which gave many of us tickets to cash in for fun prizes such as colorful lamps, toys, candy, and other fun things. Saturday we went to the Minnesota Zoo and saw many different kinds of animals we have never seen before. If you get a chance to go to the Minnesota Zoo I would suggest for you to take it and see all the interesting animals that are there. After going to the zoo we then went bowling and had a very fun time. Mr. Wald and Trina were the best bowlers out of the whole group. Everyone thinks Trina should now become a professional bowler.

Overall the trip was fun and exciting. The class got to spend quality time together and have time to ourselves. The trip was most likely the last time alot of us will be able to be together and have a fun time like this. Unfortunatley two of our class mates were not able to come on the trip which we feel a little bummed about. It was alot of fun and no of us will ever forget it.

leprechaun.jpgSaint Patricks Day is soon. In fact, it’s on March 17, so you better get ready for it, even though it’s a minor holiday (only to some people).  Today is Alfred Hitchcock Day. Other holidays include: Lump Rug Day on May 3, Candied Orange Peel Day on May 4, My Bucket’s Got a Hole in it Day on May 30, and Poisoned Blackberries Day on September 29.
