Maddock

The auditorium of Maddock High School was the site of the North Dakota Eastern Divisional High School Oritorical Constest on Saturday, Jan. 19. This contest is sponsored by the American Legion. The small audience and judges were greatly impressed by all five of the presenters.  Five districts were represented by five students.  The presenters were: Daniel of Hope, from District 1; Justin of Park River from Dist. 2; Andy of Maddock from Dist. 3; Jenna of Carrington from Dist. 4; and Robert of Christine from Dist. 10. All the speeches were on topics related to the U. S. Constitution and were EXCELLENT. Andy of Maddock came out FIRST and Jenna of Carrington was second. I think all who heard them went home encouraged by what they heard and by all the youth that spoke. I say “Thanks” American Legion for sponsoring such an event. Special congratulations to Andy and Jenna.
