The Maddock A.S. Other camps attended were ALD and MFE. The FFA members not only learned some new skills, but also had a lot of fun while doing so, including attending the dance.

Will Maddock keep its clinic?

Friday, January 18th, 2008

I am planning to attend the open forum on the status of the Maddock clinic this Sunday evening at 7 at the Community Center. I will be very interested to see if the community turns out in mass to show their support and enable those who cannot travel elsewhere to get treatment locally.

Maddock Community Library

Friday, January 18th, 2008

We have lots of resources available to the community to improve literacy for all ages and abilities. Storytime is Thursdays at the Head Start and there is a lively group of preschoolers to engage in listening and participating. If you come to the library you will find a wide array of new and used books for sale too. $1 for a whole bag can fill a lot of winter evenings with reading.

Maddock School Choir*

Friday, January 18th, 2008

The Maddock school choir has been very active this year. We have already had the Fall concert and the Christmas concert. Right now, we are starting to practice for Regional Music Contest, which will be held at Maddock School in April. State Music Contest will be held in Bismarck in April, also. Pretty much the whole choir is involved in Music Contest. We have also been working on this year’s Dinner Theatre/Dessert Theatre, which will be held in May. This is the part of the year when the school choir is very busy. So it should be fun!

Girl’s Basketball

The girl’s basketball team has been doing quite well this year. They started out their season with a win against Rolla/Rock Lake. Then, there was the CNDC tournament in Maddock and the girls won their first two games to take them to the championship against New Rockford where they fell short by only four points. Next, they attended the Shootout On The Prarie in Minot. They played Kenmare and ended up losing, but took home a win the next day. So far in the season they have lost two district games to Carrington and Harvey and have won three against Midkota, Four Winds, and Lakota. Us girls have worked hard and are hoping to go far in the postseason.
